Doctrine & Covenant
Doctrine
The Church recognizes The Holy Bible as the sufficient rule of faith
and practice, and holds that living in accordance with the teaching
of Jesus Christ is the true test of fellowship. Each member has the
right to follow the Word of God according to the dictates of his/her
own conscience under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The following
statement of faith expresses the spirit in which the Church interprets
the Word of God.
Statement of Faith
We believe in God, the Father, infinite in wisdom, goodness, and love;
and in Jesus Christ, His Son, our Lord and Savior, Who for us and our
salvation lived and died and rose again and lives evermore; and in the
Holy Spirit, Who reveals Christ to us, renewing, comforting, and
inspiring the people of God.
Covenant
- Having been brought together by Divine Grace to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, we do now solemnly covenant with each other that, God enabling us, we will strive to know the Will of God as revealed by the Holy Scriptures and to walk in His ways.
- We covenant that we will exercise Christian care and watchfulness over each other, sharing in the joys and endeavoring, with tenderness and sympathy, to bear one another’s burden and sorrows.
- We covenant that we will endeavor to influence those under the care of this Church in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, striving to make known to them, by precept and example, the Love of God and the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
- We further covenant that, recognizing the Church as the Body of Christ and under His Headship, we will maintain close fellowship with others in the Church for the purposes of deepening our faith through our common worship, serving through the acceptance of responsibilities in the work of the Church, and extending our ministry through our material support of world mission.
- We further hold it to be the mission of Christ’s Church to proclaim the Gospel to all, exalting in worship the one true God, and laboring to bring knowledge, justice, and peace to all.
- We depend upon the Holy Spirit to guide us in all truth as we pray and work for the transformation of the world into the Kingdom of God. We abide in Christian hope, awaiting the return of Christ and the triumph of His Righteousness, standing firm in the belief of His promise of life everlasting.
